Switzerland: Klosters
Resort Altitude:  1192m
Snow levels: 1192m-2844m
Trail/pistes: 305km
Linked resorts: Davos

Klosters is a romantic and charming resort, good for all levels of skier and boarder with well groomed slopes, tough off-piste and many memorable traditional mountain restaurants, good eating out and Apres-ski.  The resort shares the Parsenn  ski area with the internationally renowned resort of Davos. The train between Klosters and Davos is included in the regional lift pass.

Very much a typical Swiss alpine village, Klosters successfully and charmingly combines farming with tourism.  The first British skiers arrived in the village in 1904, seeking the steeper slopes found at this end of the Parsenn valley. It has remained a firm favourite as an unassuming family resort as well as attracting Royal patronage and an international wealthy clientele.

It is divided into two areas: Klosters Platz is centred around the railway and main lift station, the main shopping street, restaurant and hotel area.  Klosters Dorf is centred around the Madrisa gondola, is also on the railway line and a mile up the road from Platz. The two areas are  linked by an efficient bus service.

Switzerland: Crans Montana
Resort Altitude: 1500m
Snow levels: Up to 3000m
Trail/Piste: 45 square kilometres
Linked resorts: Bazettes, Aminona, Plaine Morte Glacier

The south facing resort of Crans Montana sits on a plateau overlooking the Rhone valley and is one of the sunniest resorts in the Swiss Alps.  There is some excellent skiing to be had for skiers and snowboarders alike from beginners to experts with a wide choice of suitable slopes on and below the high glacier of Plaine Morte.  The Crans-Montana-Aminona area is served by a large number of modern ski-lefts and queues are therefore virtually unknown.

For non-skiers in the party and Apres-ski there is a wide range of designer shops, exclusive clubs, casinos and excellent restaurants and hotels.  This is a resort that offers something for everyone.

France: Megève
Resort Altitude: 113M
Snow levels: 113m to 2350m
Trails: 445km
Linked Resorts: St-Gervais (lift pass covers all local resorts including Chamonix, Courmayer, les Houches)

One of France’s smartest resorts, Megeve is family friendly with good tree-skiing for all levels and a World Cup downhill course. Only one hour from Geneva, it is great for cutting out the dreaded airport transfer! Lying at 113metres Megeve is not high and may be short on snow cover in the village itself, although the slopes rise to 2350metres.

The ski domain is divided into three main areas and extends to St Gervais. It is well served by a network of 110 lifts : a combination of cable cars, gondolas and chair and drag with a network of easy slopes providing skiing back down to the village. Excellent off piste skiing is available as well as the resort being popular with cross country skiers.

Great window shopping and gournet restaurants make this a popular place for any non ski-ing members of the party.
