This lovely, three storey beach house, featured in Architectural Digest Spain, is set high on a hill with sweeping views over the resort town of Sanxenxo and the Atlantic coast. A spacious and partially covered deck runs across the front of the villa and provides wonderful outdoor living and dining with day beds, sofas and comfortable chairs all with white terrycloth covers and brightly coloured cushions. West facing, it gives the house beautiful light and spectacular sunsets. This is relaxed Spanish living at it best.
Steps lead down to the garden and the ‘60s style swimming pool and deck. The terraced gardens lead further down to the garden gate and the sea where a path runs along to Areas beach
The main bedrooms are on the first floor and are all stylishly done with bright colours, lots of light and beautiful views of the sea. The childrens’ bedroom has a bunk bed and an extra single bed and can effectively sleep 3 children.
The ground floor hosts the guest quarters (which are independent from the main house) and which include three large double bedrooms, one with a bathroom ensuite and one additional bathroom. These three guest bedrooms have French doors opening to the garden and the pool. All beautifully decorated, this would be ideal for teenagers or a separate group of friends.
The Rias Baixas, in Southern Galicia, is a little known area of Northern Spain and reminds us very much of the South West coast of France. Stunning beaches along the coast are among the most beautiful in Spain; excursions to little fishing villages or the wonderful historic city of Santiago de Compostela (end of the famous medieval Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route) are within easy reach. Golf, sailing, surfing and wine tasting the lovely Albarino local wine are all nearby and easy to organize. There are plenty of great restaurants, including some Michelin starred.
A perfect place for a family holiday or indeed a long weekend getaway. Easy to get to through a variety of good airports
