Riad Maja

We are delighted to add this little gem to our portfolio of unusual houses; the most perfect place from which to explore the sights, sounds and shopping of Marrakech.

Only 20 minutes after landing at Menara Airport, your car will drop you at Bab Lakksour Gate where Youseff, the house steward, will be waiting for you. Riad Majala is a 5 minute walk from here (your luggage will be looked after by the house porters).

The Riad is situated in the heart of the Medina, in the prestigious Mouassine area, down a particularly quiet 'derb' or small street. With the gardens of one of the Royal Palaces backing the house and the tops of its palm trees peeking over the walls, this is a particularly peaceful area of this bustling and vibrant city. Riad Maja/The house is perfect for visiting the city on foot with the souk and antique shops being only 3 minutes' walk and the famous Jemaa El Fna square only 5 minutes.

Entirely renovated by French owners in 2011, this traditional Riad retains all its old charm but is allied with modern comforts; slick shower rooms, good beds and beautiful linen. The in-house staff include a cook who prepares breakfast (inclusive in the price) and lunch and dinner on request.

Centred around a cool Moroccan courtyard, there are several different seating and dining areas on the ground floor with the bedrooms upstairs.

The house has a wonderful roof terrace with seating and further dining areas, sun beds and a plunge pool. There is also a traditional wood fired hammam and massage can be arranged within the comfort of your room or in the specially appointed massage area.

Staff are on hand to help with planning your holiday from restaurant reservations to golf, taxis and excursions.
