Superbly located on the side of one of Umbria’s famed hill villages, this lovely and very welcoming house has been totally renovated by two London designers.
At 800 metres above sea level, the views from the house are extraordinary and the spacious sitting/dining terrace is ideally situated to make the most of this stunning vista, overlooking the Tiber valley with a panorama stretching as far away as the Apennines.
One side of the house faces out of the village to the hills and Apennines and the other opens onto the heart of this sweet and very traditional hamlet, boasting stone arches, cobbled streets and little piazzas complete with Castello, a beautiful church and a traditional village shop selling all your basic necessities, plus a very good Italian restaurant.
This is the perfect base for those wanting to enjoy the delights of Umbria and Tuscany, with all the hot spots within easy reach and a welcoming pool and sun terrace on your return from the multiple antique markets and sightseeing this wonderful area has to offer.
There are a wealth of cultural activities in the area with countless festivals including the International Jazz Festival in Perugia and classical music festivals in Cortona, Citta di Castella and Magione.
The house has been done to a very high standard, with fantastic top of the range bathrooms and beautiful and unusual furnishings, lovely linen and sophisticated finishings. All the bedrooms are en suite and all enjoy spectacular views.
Set over several levels, the house does have a street level door for unloading luggage or shopping and also a separate entrance opening into the village, ideal for walking out for a coffee in the square or for a cocktail before dinner.
This is a perfect venue for a wedding and all sorts of useful services such as hair and make up can be arranged. Unique access to the medieval banqueting hall and the local church is available for private ceremonies.
