Villa Col di Casale is an elegant, spacious & beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse, nestling in its own 117 acres. Set amidst a magical setting of forests, meadows, mists & fireflys Col di Casale embodies all that is wonderful in the heart of Umbria, the green heart of Italy.
More ‘palazzo’ than farmhouse Col di Casale has been lovingly restored to a very high standard with great sophistication & attention to detail. Connected by a series of grand archways the ground floor reception rooms flow seamlessly together leading one onto the terrace with breathtaking views of the valley below & the 12th century Umbrian fort Rocca D’Aria. The owners have decorated and furnished the villa exquisitely and guests will love the spacious and comfortable bedrooms and in particular the master suite with its own large private sitting room - the height of luxury.
Outside, guests can enjoy peaceful, lazy days by the large private pool and there are plenty of terraces for dining al fresco. For the more energetic Villa Col di Casale is well situated to explore the glorious towns of Umbria & Tuscany. Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Gubbio, Arezzo & San Sepulcro are all within 45 minutes whilst a little further afield lies Spoleto, Siena, Todi & Orvieto. Even Florence & Rome are only 2 hours away.
Ten minutes drive from the house is the medieval fortress town of Montone, recently voted one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in all of Italy with two excellent restaurants and an annual film festival in early July. A further five minutes brings you to Umbertide, a charming working town with a large supermarket, banks and everything you could possibly require.
There is a wealth of cultural activity in the area with countless festivals which include international theatre & music in Spoleto, film in Montone, international jazz in Perugia, & classical music festivals in Cortona, Citta di Castello & Magione, amongst many others. There are medieval pageants in Arezzo, San Sepolcro & of course the famous Palio in Siena.
Villa Col di Casale is a very special
and magical property in untouched
green Umbria.
