Rosabella

One of the most beautiful private homes in Tuscany, Rosabella sits in the foot hills of the Maremma surrounded by a fabulous garden designed by one of Europe’s leading landscape gardeners, Lady Arabella Lennox Boyd. Shaded pergolas, walkways and arbours within formal terraces, afford spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and sea.

The house was completely restored in the 1990’s in the style of a Tuscan farmhouse without being self consciously rustic. The style is light, fresh and uncontrived with luxurious yet comfortable furnishings. Rosabella is primarily a very elegant, warm and inviting family home set in the most magnificent surroundings.

Sleeping 11 guests, the property comprises the main villa together with two cottages for guests and their staff. The staff cottage could also be used for guest accommodation.

Accommodation in the villa includes a master suite as well as a further large double bedroom, a third double bedroom and one single bedroom all with ensuite bathrooms, a reception room, drawing rooms, library and dining room.

The kitchen is modern and fully-functional and downstairs includes the home cinema room and spa area (gym, Turkish steam room, bathroom with power shower and massage room), playroom, utility room, storage rooms, parking for six cars and the wine cellar.

The guest cottage has two beautifully appointed double bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms, as well as a kitchenette and spacious living area. There is a staff cottage adjacent which also has two bedrooms, bathrooms, living area and a large fully-fitted kitchen. The staff cottage is nicely furnished and could be used for extra guest accommodation if required.

The pool area is magnificent. With marquees on either side of the pool, it is a wonderful place to dine al fresco and recline in the shade. A pool house has been built underneath the pool so as not to obstruct the view to the ocean. The facilities include a power shower, toilet and changing area as well as a fully-fitted kitchen with an adjacent room with a washing machine and dryer.

The house is the most perfect combination of luxurious modern living with all the comforts of a family home. Only a few minutes’ drive from beautiful sandy beaches and surrounded by olive groves, close to the famous Italian vineyards of Bolgheri, there are many wonderful restaurants and one of the best enotecas (wine bar and shop) in the region. The house staff can arrange for access to the private beach of the Tonmbola Thalasso resort near Castagneto Carducci, (15 minutes drive) where there are sun beds, beach towels and valet parking.
