Villa Saint James is an imposing building built in 1741. It is located in the oldest district of Positano, Liparlati, not far from the church of St. Giacomo. Several villas of great importance were built in the north of the village on the remains of Roman houses; hence the panoramic views of the bay, the Amalfi coast and Capri. The property is the perfect retreat for a large family or group of friends.
The house offers spacious reception rooms, bedroom suites and superb gardens and pool. Guests can enjoy some 300 metres of terraces with a colonnade - made famous in the eighteenth century, seen throughout Neapolitan paintings in major museums worldwide and now an iconic symbol of Positano.
The villa is composed of 4 floors. All rooms have a large bathroom and equally large terrace with all the comforts of a 5 star luxury property.
The main entrance is on the second floor but guests can also access the house from the Mediterranean gardens full of bougainvillea, lemon and orange trees, from which are made the freshly-squeezed juices and home-made marmalades that are served for breakfast. The kitchen is also on the second floor, where the cook can prepare an array of delicious local and Italian specialities. On the same floor is a large reception room which can be used as an indoor dining room, relaxing room or a large study fully equipped with a computer, WiFi, fax etc. Close to this is a superb library containing many modern and first editions.
On the third floor there are four big bedroom suites with spacious bathrooms and containing among other things antique 17th century Neapolitan ceramics.
