| Fort William
The house stands at the end of a long drive in a wonderful elevated position in 400 acres of woods, pasture and farmland, overlooking the famous River Blackwater. It has always been a private family home and this is the first time it has become available to rent.
In immaculate order, this lovely house is elegant and gracious yet retains the atmosphere of a much loved family home.
The accommodation comprises five double bedrooms in the main house, each with bathroom. A wing of the house has a variety of smaller bedrooms with three bathrooms suitable for children and teenagers.
A beautiful French-panelled drawing room opens off the spacious hall, as do the study and morning room. The dining room has a large table in the middle with a further round table seating up to eight in the bay window overlooking the spectacular views shared by all the main rooms.
There is fantastic fishing available on the prestigious river Blackwater (to be arranged separately with the ghillie, Paul Whelan). Rods and equipment are available to be hired. Fort William runs two and a half miles of double bank fishing.
The house, not to be confused with the town of the same name in the Scottish Highlands, is 2 miles from the little heritage town of Lismore, home to the Dukes of Devonshire. With loads to see and do, from a myriad of country houses and gardens to visit, to a wide choice of nearby beaches, this a wonderful place for both family holidays or fishing fanatics.
