La Cabanne

A very unusual house, almost Robinson Crusoe living, situated on a private estate at the very top of La Pointe, the furthermost reach of Cap Ferret yet only 5 minutes' drive from Cap Ferret village. Surrounded on both sides, the beaches on the bassin side are almost private and on the other are the beautiful, long stretches of ocean beach.

The house is three storey and of wood construction, typical of the houses on Cap Ferret with a long first floor terrace (with an outside bath!) stretching the length of the house and fabulous views across to the Dune de Pyla.

Eclectically furnished with pictures and interesting pieces of porcelain and china brought back from overseas, the décor is simple but atmospheric. The kitchen is well equipped with an indoor barbecue and there is loads of space and a table for outside dining.

Shorts, swimsuits and beach towels are the order of the day. The house doesn’t have a pool or sun beds – this is not for those looking for beach bars and glam but for lovers of nature and outdoor living. Unusual but great fun!
