Le Moulin

A charming 17th century olive mill, restored and extended using traditional materials. The house is orientated towards outside living and relaxed country life. It is set in three acres of mature garden and terraces, surrounded by farmland and protected woods and only a ten minute walk from the village of Callas.

The entrance to the house is through French double doors that lead to the grand salon, over a thousand square feet in size with a 20 ft. vaulted, antique beamed ceiling. This is the core of the house and was also the main part of the old mill. The original features have been retained including millstone, several gears and the great wooden waterwheel - a key feature for both inside and outside the house.

The new wing of the house overlooks the pool and Turkish-style Sofra; a roofed sitting area with off-white cotton furnishings, bright cushions and huge ceramic lamps, it is perfect for shared lounging and, with its fireplace, a cosy spot for cold evenings. A large gas barbecue is housed in a small enclave next to the second kitchen to facilitate out door dining - all in all the house has three outside dining areas!

The master bedroom has a particularly eye-catching stone tiled, over-sized shower and Italian wash basin. Two of the bedrooms in the new wing are arranged to accommodate children and one of the bedrooms is particularly suited for a disabled guest.
