Situated in the heart of Le Parc naturel régional du Luberon just 8 km from the pretty Provençal village of Bonnieux and only 9 kms from Apt, Les Prés Blancs is this stunning three-storey house dating from the 1600's.
Lovingly restored to offer contemporary comfort and convenience, the house has lost none of its charm or original features and the tasteful soft furnishings enhance the traditional architecture, lending it a sense of timeless elegance and warmth.
Entrance to the villa is via a hallway from which there is access to the Ground Floor with two double bedrooms, the gym room and the spectacular, double height living room with its imposing, original stone fireplace and gallery on three sides. There are three further bedrooms located on the first floor accessed via a sweeping staircase.
On the lower ground floor is a contemporary, state-of-the-art kitchen leading to the open-plan, classically styled dining area plus a separate salon and breakfast room with large fireplace. There is also a wine cellar for clients’ use, a shower room for the pool and a large larder on this floor.
Separate accommodation is contained in the annexe with two additional single ensuite bedrooms decorated and furnished in simple style with extensive seating areas overlooking the pool and gardens
Outside, a charming terraced area overlooks a graveled courtyard and cobbled lane that runs between the main villa and the annexe and has the charm of a small Provencal village. In the courtyard there is extra seating for pre-dinner drinks plus a local stone dining table seating fourteen set under a pergola. Stone steps lead down from the courtyard to the large, flat-lawned garden and large swimming pool. The gardens have been extensively re-planned and replanted, comprising 2.6 hectares (6 acres) of lawns and lavender fields surrounded by woods. For lovers of the outdoors, there are a myriad of opportunities for walks in the surrounding countryside, a mixture of woodland and lavender fields.
The small hilltop Provençal village of Saignon, with its pretty church and narrow streets is just a short drive away, as is the larger town of Apt with its shops, supermarkets, hospital, and a number of restaurants.
