Chateau Marie Therese
Situated in the heart of Provence, within easy reach of Avignon, St Remy and Aix-en –Provence, this is a gloriously grand house, set amongst 17 acres of mature woodland, elegant formal gardens, orchards and streams. Beautifully restored, the Chateau stands at the end of a long avenue of ancient plane trees and, along with its adjacent 18th century Farm building, there is accommodation for 32 guests. A 17th century private chapel stands in the grounds of this wonderful home, perfect for weddings, blessings and christenings. Extra staff, marquees, fireworks and catering can all be arranged to make up that perfect day. The Chateau itself has several sitting rooms and two dining rooms. Beautifully decorated by the present owners who have spent many years in the Far East, French elegance combines with oriental grace, balancing exquisite Asian antiques with fine French furniture. Three master bedrooms and six further bedrooms are all light and spacious, individually themed and have en suite bathrooms. The pool area is surrounded by jasmine and flowering laurel and the pool itself is a pure, green slate rectangle with a border of ochre stone. An adjacent shallow pool is perfect for children. Alongside in the Pavilion is the open dining area - a delightfully informal setting with its own kitchen. The Farm has seven spacious and comfortable bedrooms along with a sitting room, dining room with its own kitchen and cloistered courtyard where guests can lounge on rattan sofas and chairs and look over the fountain and lawns. All the bedrooms are equipped with Internet access and individual digital phones and the reception areas have Hi-Fi systems. The Chateau and the Farm can be rented out separately. A state of the art conference and business centre has its own entrance and is available to tenants under a separate agreement.
