Of France
Long since the playground of millionaires and royalty, this coastline
is sophisticated and luxurious yet still retains its own particular
French charm. From the lovely, fragrant hill towns of St Paul de
Vence and Baux to the glamour of Nice, Cannes and St Tropez, the
region is dotted with sophisticated beaches, wonderful restaurants,
chic shops, multiple sporting facilities yet retains its quaint
markets, beautiful mountain walks and hillside villages.
Atlantic
Coast
This beautiful coastline has long been a well-treasured haven for
French family holidays. Sparkling air, long sandy beaches, undulating
sand dunes and the scent of the pine forests make for idyllic holidays
filled with activities. Bicycling, surfing, sailing, tennis and
a host of other sports combine to provide a perfect place for children
and teenagers alike. Lovely markets, interesting towns and a myriad
of delicious restaurants add to the pleasures of these sophisticated
yet family-orientated resorts.
Countryside
Our selection of French country houses are scattered across the
country but in each and every region the delights of provincial
France are present - the market, an important staple of every French
household’s life, the village cafés with their shaded
terraces and ubiquitous game of boules, the slow momentum of daily
life regulated by the work in the vineyards, the tolling of the
church bell and the swift swoop and call of the swallows as they
welcome in the falling dusk.
Corsica
The Island of Napoleon, or the Ile de Beauté as it is known
to the French, remains unspoilt, rustic and wild. Snow-capped mountains
covered in wild ‘maquis’ provide a stunning backdrop
to unspoilt beaches and crystal clear seas. However Corsica is sophisticated
and charming with lovely French and Italian influenced restaurants,
pretty towns and villages and loads to see and do.
