Casa Amarelo

Situated on the edge of the historic town of Paraty, this pretty colonial house is bordered by a river on one side, the beach on the other and a steep densely forested hillside and is only a short walk from the Centro Historico.

The sea and beach are just metres from the house and is good for swimming and kayaking although the water is very shallow at low tide. The pretty beach of Jabaquara is just the other side of the river and has a few beach bars for a cold beer or a snack.

The main house consists of 3 double bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, and a study. The dining room easily sits 10 and the sitting room is spacious with lots of sofas and seating. A large terrace extends the length of the house where most meals are served and there are hammocks and big armchairs for lounging on hot days, cooled by the breeze and overhead fans.

The guesthouse is self-contained with its own bathroom and kitchen and opens onto the pool. It has a double and a sofa bed (double) in the sitting room.

The house is both atmospheric and relaxing.  It is beautifully decorated with airy rooms, and French  windows opening onto the mature gardens which are walled providing total privacy.  There is a large pool and plenty of lawns for children to play on.

A caretaker lives on site tucked away on the hillside and an English-speaking concierge manages the house.
