Villa Istana Samar

Istana Semer is one of Bali's iconic villas. Featured in many architectural and design magazines, the house has been totally renovated in 2011.

Set in beautifully landscaped gardens with views over the rice fields, the house enjoys the ocean breezes as well as the Bali sunsets. Within the gardens there are lotus ponds, a temple, levelled lawns for croquet or badminton and a traditional Balinese pavilion. The different buildings that make up this traditional Balinese house are all linked by covered walkways.

The main circular living area is the focal point of the house and is furnished with large sofas, armchairs and cushions. The dining area easily sits 12/14 and a games annexe with billiard table, TV and separate sitting and dining areas with kitchen is situated to the end of the garden.

The staff are all professionally trained and the newly renovated kitchen, equipped to five star standard, is the domain of the chef who has been with the villa for 14 years. He speaks excellent English and is happy preparing Balinese or international cuisine.
